WORLD'S FIRST THREE-PARENT BABY.....

Team of scientists led  by Dr John Zhang from the New Hope Fertility Center in New York city  have revealed the birth of a baby boy born to a couple from Jordan who had for 20 years tried to start a family,  using DNA from the three parents. The baby was conceived from combination of egg containing nuclear DNA from his mother who carries genes for Leigh syndrome that affects the development of the nervous system, father and then mitochondria DNA from a "second"  mother (an unknown donor). This huge deal for the future of reproduction is aimed at replacing defective mitochondria DNA and prevent  disease passing on to the child through the maternal line using Spindle Nuclear Transfer. The team created five(5) embryos with the technique but only one developed normally and was implanted in the mother. This method have not been approved in the U.S and so Dr Zhang went to Mexico instead for the fear of the law. Hopefully the findings  of the technique is set to be described at the American Society For Reproduction Medicine 's Scientific Congress in Salt Lake in October.

Namibian schoolboy invented cell phone that does not use airtime

Simon Petrus a grade 12 learner from Abraham Iyambo senior secondary school,  a rural  school in Ohangwena Region, has invented a SIM-less mobile phone that does not need airtime to  make calls. He put together  parts from a telephone and television set that according to him, uses only a radio system. A prototype of bendable smartphones capable of becoming a bracelet and tablets foldable to phone size both running on android. Simply Amazing!!! These foldable masterpieces have in between the camera and earpiece a hidden hinge. Horror Russian reality show set to be launched this year....

A Russian reality show is set to be launched this year involving 30 male and female contestants. The 30 contestants are expected to thrive in the wilderness for 9 whole months and the surviving winner will smile home with $1.6m prize. The organisers of the reality show have loudly made it clear that"Everything is allowed", including rape and murder. Contestants will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging that they could be subject to such attacks.But they are also warned that Russian criminal procedures will still apply and that police are free to arrest anyone who commits a crime in the show.

NASA set to bring back asteroid sample back to Earth.

NASA launched the OSIRIS-REX space probe on the 8th day of September into space,for a seven years non-comparable mission to collect samples from 492meters roundish, dark and potentially dangerous asteroid called "Bennu" . The space is expected to spend two years flying through space in order to catch up with the asteroid. OSIRIS-REX took off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on top of a United launch Alliance Atlas V411 rocket. In August 2018,the space probe is planned to arrive at Benny. Then in July 2020,the probe will release it's 3.35metres robot arms called "TAGSAM" which will make a 5seconds contact with Benny during which a blast of nitrogen gas from the Tags am will kick up rocks and dust and then pick up at least 60grams or 2kilograms samples of the dust and store it. The space probe is scheduled to head home in March 2021 and arrive back to Earth on 24th September, 2023.

The Enterprise supplies birthing kits to health centers, hospitals, traditional birth attendants as well as  maternal and child health organizations across the country. The innovative kit contains affordable and sterile supplies are in 30 out of 36 states in Nigeria reading more than 50,000 women and babies. According to Ventures, the innovator received a $25,000 grant from the US. African Development foundation to set up storage facilities and strengthen supply chain lines for delivery kits get into the hands of mom's faster.
