In Rwanda drones carries patient's blood for a fee...

Image
Rwanda have launched drone delivery programmes that can improve their medical services. Drones will be used to deliver blood, plasma and coagulants to hospitals in the remote areas of  the  country in order to reduce delay in blood delivery. This drones are guided by its GPS location data and powered by a nose-mounted battery and  through a cellular connection send back information to both their base and to the Rwandan air traffic control. The zip line will be paid for on a per delivery basis by the Rwanda's health department. The drones are  expected to make around 150 deliveries per day to 21 facilities across the country. Although there are security risks surrounding the use of drones in Africa, the use of drones to reduce delay in transfusion time is a welcomed development.
