The solar scheme in Zimbabwe assisted by 2 million Euros($2.22 million)  from the European Union have helped chicken farms, fisheries, tailors and shop keepers acquire hire-purchase solar panels. Jonathan Njerere  head of programmer in Zimbabwe for charity Oxfam said his organization and others had set up a community - owned, self-financing solar energy scheme in Gutu district, 230km East of Harare which have also enabled 270 farmers to irrigate about 39.5 acres of farmlands.(source:TODAY)

According to CHINA DAILY, from next month the world's fastest high-speed train with maximum operating speed of 380km/hr will run on Zhengzhou-xuzhou high-speed track. The high speed train is said to shorten the travel time between ZhengZhou, central China's Henan province from 2hrs 33mins to about 80mins. In China, t hese new high speed trains will be mainly used to carry passengers in the future.
