Muscles monitor with ultra thin electronic tattoo

Researchers have developed a thin, flexible electron which can measure electrical signals on the skin after being applied like a temporary tattoo. The study leader, Professor of electrical engineering Yael Hanein at Tel Aviv University in Israel stated that the new technology is designed to make long-term recording of muscle activity without inconveniencing the person wearing it. The electronic tattooes could have a variety of applications which includes mapping emotions based on facial expressions, studying neuro degenerative diseases and controlling prosthesis. It could also be used for psychological evaluations and diagnostic tool for Parkinson's disease, a neurological disorder that can cause tremors, muscle stiffness and coordination problems.
